Currently, full participation in education has become the main trend of the educational development of every country in the world, which requires that school education should not continue with the traditional closed education mode, but actively explore new allies to greatly promote their own development. Among all of the education power, undoubtedly family is the most important channel that school can get the most convenient and effective educational resources. Parental involvement in the school work affects the effects of school education to some extent. Broadening homework participation has become the main trend of homework reform. With the continuous deepening of the curriculum reform, the reform of English teaching materials and classroom teaching has made great progress, but the extracurricular language learning is seldom involved. The extension of extracurricular language learning, especially English reading, is not only an effective but also a necessary complement. Besides, English reading, as a form of language input, is the most important way to learn language for middle school students, and English reading has always been a priority of the senior high school entrance examination.Homework is a potentially effective way to provide additional instruction through practice. Through it, parents can observe their children's education and express a positive attitude towards their children's education. Thus it will reinforce students' self-management and learning achievement. However, through questionnaire survey and interview, the author find that there are a lot of problems in the current English reading practice. Now many junior English teachers still give students some monotonous and repeated reading homework assignments, and ask each student to finish it all by themselves, with no communication or cooperation. Homework is also called "battlefield" for students, parents, teachers, and administrators, because students are failing to finish their homework properly and their parents do not know how to guide, which often leads to strained relationship within family. In light of this phenomenon, it is important to design meaningful reading homework and improve parental involvement. Therefore, interactive English reading homework is a very good try.In such case, this thesis tried to study and answer the following questions:First, can interactive homework positively effect students' reading achievement and improve parental involvement? Second, are there statically correlation between the amount of time parents assisted with homework and students'reading scores? Third, how to design interactive homework purposely to improve the students' abilities and skills? Fourth, how parental involvement efforts can be focused to improve parental interactions with students during the completion of homework? The study applied interactive approach into the reading homework design. The literature analysis method, questionnaire survey method assisted by the individual interview and data statistics were used to explore the impact of the interactive homework on junior students' English reading achievement.150 students from Tie Yi Middle School were invited to participate the study. The questionnaire was composed of 20 multiple choice questions covering four aspects. It indicated that there were many problems in the current English reading homework. Parental involvement alone was not sufficient for achieving ideal reading achievement. Teachers must design interactive homework assignments that interest both parents and students so as to build greater school-family connection. Therefore, the author conducted the study from two levels: the application of interactive homework and parent training. It was found that the application of interactive reading homework could not only improve students' reading achievement but also foster parental involvement. This approach enabled teachers to design effective reading homework assignment that could improve students' reading achievement. What's more, it provided a means for parents to get involved in the students' education and sustain students' interest in home learning activities.
