The traditional class-break setting-up exercise has expanded into new activities in the form of big break sports activities, our school sports work was into a new stage. The status of Big recess sports activities in school physical education is becoming more and more important, Big recess sports activities is an important means and measures to realize the all-round quality education. But how to develop the school characteristics construction of big break sports activities scientifically, how to make the big break sports activities play its due effect? Have been becoming the focus of studying. In this paper, on the basis of fully understanding the present situation of the big break sports activities in Urumqi, investigated and analyzed big break sports activities, combined with the results of the investigation, and put forward some ideas and suggestions, provided the reference for the scientific development of Urumqi City Sports recess.This article uses the literature material law, the questionnaire survey method, field observation, case analysis, data statistics, conducted a questionnaire survey to sports group leaders, teachers and students a total of 1680 people of 16 primary school in Xin Jiang of Urumqi city. investigated and analyzed the situation of big break sports activities and the development of characteristics construction.The results of the study indicate that:1. School sports recess’ features projects have got a great achievement, the school sports project selection can basically meet the needs of students, but the management and other aspects of the features is not very prominent, most schools do not have formed a systematic management system.2. Most of the students love to participate in the big break sports activities actively, the activities’ motivations change from the constraints of school system to their own needs,but,between the time Students participate in physical exercise effectively and one hour time requirements,There is a certain distance. sex is a very important influencing factor, Boys like most projects are that have the characteristics of competition and antagonism, For girls, competitive and antagonism are relatively small.3. Schools in the big break sports activities are lack of education and publicity work, some of the teachers and students have not a comprehensive understanding to the big break sports activities, venues and equipment shortages, collective activities too much, the imperfection of the organization and management become the main problem in the big break sports activities4. Big break sports activities are still in the exploratory stage of development, The theory and practice of building is still a weak link.According to the research results, put forward these methods: A variety of methods,to solve the problem of the lack of venues and equipment; organization and management standardization, systematization; vigorously develop the characteristics of the project; pay attention to theoretical construction.
