In this chapter, I will first introduce the spread of international law in Early Qing Dynasty. Then I will express the situation after Opium War in 1840.Chapter Two: The comparison of high school history textbooks related to the international law in Chinese modern history. In this chapter, I am going to compare and analyze the contents in the book based on People’s Education Press version and Yuelu Press version. Firstly, I will show the requests in the new national curriculum of the Chinese modern history and how the textbooks reply to it. I find out that both versions can mostly meet the demand. Only in explaining how Qing’s government takes advantage of international law to cope with foreign invasion do the textbooks published by Yuelu Press surpassed. Secondly, I will compare the details of the Opium War, the Second Opium war, Sino-Japanese war in 1894-1895 and the invasion of eight nations in 1900 in text system and text assistance system of two versions. Some expressions of international law have been found, such as“Opium trade is against the international moral” in the layout of People’s Education Press version and the content that British demand to revise Treaty of Nanking is against international law in the text of Yuelu version.Chapter Three: The shortcomings of absorbing the international law in these two versions’ textbooks. First, to solve the problem, teachers can study the new academic achievements by themselves. During their teaching, teachers should guide students to think differently, which will bring in academic debates among them. Teachers can also exchange academic ideas with the help of each other. Secondly, to solve the problem, professional training in summer and winter holidays and a more reasonable division of teachers’ work are also essential. Lastly, to solve the problem, providing some history supplements, editing popular history books, establish an e-book platform and build a study website will also help.In the conclusion of the article : I indicated that the high school history textbook should pay attention to two problems when it absorb new achievements in history research.
