In recent years, China's middle school history teaching sets off a new upsurge of reform. Its body consists of three chapters.Chapter One discusses the tardiness of history textbooks in absorbing new achievements in history research. In the current high school history textbooks, the improper evaluations about Li Hongzhang, the New Deal and the short-period development of national industries during the end of the Qing Dynasty can be illustrated to the tardiness of its absorption of new achievements in history research.Chapter Two analyzes the reasons of the tardiness of high school history textbooks in absorbing new achievements in history research such as the shortcomings of compiling the current history textbooks and the contraction between the constant development of history research and relative stability of high school history textbooks.Chapter Three puts forward some measures that high school history teachers should take. This is the core of the dissertation. It clarifies the importance of changing teaching conception and improving professional quality of high school history teachers, and preliminarily explores the way to absorb new achievements in history research in the teaching of Chinese modern history.
