Study On The Spiritual Support Problem Of The Rural Elderly By Casework

Along with the continuous development of China’s economy and various changes of the whole society, spiritual support has become a hot topic among the public and has been a serious problem, which is independent of the material support, especially the spiritual support of the elderly has become the focus of the whole society. While the family and the government do not attach importance to the elderly spiritual support, causing the elderly spiritual support problem more and more edgy, especially the spiritual support problem of the Rural Elderly.This paper selects ten elderly people from H village of Hengshui City and makes a brief understanding of the present situation about these people’s spiritual support problem by the method of unstructured interviews. Through the analysis of this investigation, I find that three problems exist among the old people in the fact of spiritual support: disrespect of personality, failure of emotional comfort and discontent of achievement,and analyze them from two different aspects of society and family. I choose one of the old people as an intervention object, analyze the problems in the spiritual support, and make in-depth study by the case study method of social work intervention in order to assist to solve the problem of spiritual support. Finally, according to the investigation, I make a summing-up, and have profound consideration on social work how to solve the problem of rural elderly spiritual support better And I hope that my research can provide some useful reference to other scholars when researching relevant problems about the rural elderly spiritual support.
