Quality of graduate education is the superior stage of higher education and an important indicator to measure higher education, which shouldering the responsibility to train high quality and high capacity talents. The main tutor is not only responsible for imparting knowledge and experience, guiding the direction of scientific research, developing professional practice abilities and checking research and review papers with respect, but also deeply influence the students in terms of their values, academic accomplishment, personality characteristics, which are regarded as the main work of the tutor. That’s why we perspective in the need of graduates’ development to research tutors’ influence and its effect play an important role on strengthening graduates’ quality.In this study, we take graduate students of S University into research. First of all, we use literature analysis to expound tutors’ influence through its concept, characters, elements and function theoretically; secondly, we use questionnaires to present how it works of tutors influence for graduate student in S University, its problems and reasons why it occurs; thirdly, we interview six students of 3 grade(three per year) to explore the causes of the problems; Finally, put forward suggestions of those problems, students’ demand for development to improve graduates’ quality and promote their comprehensive development. Through analyzing, it shows that most of the instructors aware of their influence on the importance of graduate students, they have a sense of responsibility, but there are still some problems in its process,mainly in the influence both on the authority and non-authority. First, which relates to the authority influence: the less awareness of position influence, the incomplete qualifications and experience influence and the traditional influence which limited students’ development of characters and their creative abilities? Second, which relates to the non-authority influence: pay much attention to the professional knowledge, limited conditions of research, different influence on academic dissertation, insufficient guidance, limited conscious on moral influence and influence on mental health education, characters and life are different than the students’ expectation, as well as the limited conditions of obtaining employment. Studies suggest that tutors’ limited cognition on their roles, discordant professional quality, imperfect tutor selection system, inadequate job supervision and imperfect policies and regulations work together finally cause these problems. In view of this, we proposed countermeasures contribute to the students’ healthy development: improving teacher quality; strengthening teacher team building and management to a good atmosphere for graduate education; optimization of social security measures to create a social environment which contribute to tutors’ influence.It is of great significance for the development of the society and country to improving the level of development of graduate. Researching how the tutors’ influence play more effectively is significant to it, but it is not adequate merely by tutors’ influence, the support of the society and school, the perfectly focusing of people from all walks of life are crucial.
