A Study On The Present Employment Situation Of Sports Education Majors In Zhaotong University And Countermeasures

Physical Education(PE) teaching specialty is the cradle of cultivating PE teachers. As the primary and secondary schools put high value on PE, the demand for PE teachers has a certain growth. However, the employment situation of sports education professional graduates is not optimistic with the enrollment expansion policy in our country since 1999. It has become an important subject on how to get the characteristics of PE teaching graduates, give them valuable information and make efforts to seek corresponding strategies in vocational guidance in universities. This dissertation analyzes the present employment situation of PE teaching professionals and puts forward some corresponding countermeasures.This study has adopted the methods of literature review, questionnaire survey and interviewing experts, among which questionnaire survey is mainly used. Also, it designs 12 categories including 46 questions. This present dissertation makes a cpmplete anlysis on these problems including the basic structure of these graduates, the employment situation, the employment preparation, the employment consciousness, the employment initiative, the employment consumption, the employment education and the solutions to employment frustration, etc. The investigation sample takes up half of the PE teaching professionals and can largely reflects the basic situation of employment.Zhaotong University is a regular institute of higher learning in a prefecture city. The Sports Education graduates are greatly influenced by its region with two-thirds of them from Zhaotong areas. This dissertation analyzes three factors which influence the Sports Education graduates in Zhaotong University: the first is cultivating mechanism factors which are closely related to school expansion, lacking effective curriculum programs and careers guidance; the second is the influential factors of social environment, including employment policy and economic environment; the final factor comes from the graduates themselves, including their professional orientation, value orientation and their ability quality.The purpose of this study is to propose some countermeasures for Sports Education majors in Zhaotong University by analyzing the present employment situation and the influential factors. This dissertation puts forward strategies to solve the employment issues of Sports Education graduates of Physical Culture School in Zhaotong University from three aspects: improving the quality of graduates, promoting the work of universities’ empoyment instruction and perfecting the career prospects of graduates.
