Under the continuing promotion of primary curriculum reform in China, the development and utilization of indigenous knowledge are gradually causing more attantion by the society. Xinjiang is the multinational region,undergoing various activities in different historical periods, economic forms, ethnic groups and religions.At the same time, under the influence of the natural geography environment and other factors, it has formed the the current prosperous economic development and multicultural region.The indigenous knowledge is very outstanding specially in Uyghur spoken culture.In this study, through the literature review method the relative information about indigenous knowledge is collected; as well as the questionnaire survey and interview methods are applied for researching the status of indigenous knowledge in science course at middle schools in Xinjiang. It has been found that the resources of indigenous knowledge among the teachers have conservative property feature; the content of the courses lack of combination of indigenous knowledge with teaching practice; the consciousness of indigenous knowledge among the newlly employed teachers is weak; in addition, the ethnic minority chemistry teachers at middle schools seldom participate the curriculum development.Based on the above findings, the author has further understanding about Uyghur spoken culture of indigenous knowledge in chemistry course.The indigenous knowledge relates to chemstry has been digged out through Uyghur proverbs,riddles and folktales, as well as the examples about indigenous knowledge in Uyghur spoken culture are illustrated for the utilization by teachers in chemistry teaching.Through enhancing ethnic minority teachers’ information technology ablity, cultivating “’indigenous teachers” with prosperous indigenous knowledge, and encouraging them to participate in curriculum development ao as to arise teachers’ development and utilization comptance. In addition, to use Uyghur spoken culture of indigenous knowledge during the practicec of chemistry teaching for cultivating students’ patriotism feelings to both motherland and hometown. It is benefit to inherit and protect ethnic cultures.
