With the deepening of new curriculum reform, new curriculum idea and history course become increasingly close. The history teaching emphasis more on the humanities education, whose form becomes more diverse, while as one of the teaching resources, historical images become more popular among general scholars and the historical teaching workers.Under the impetus of the reform tide, various forms of teaching mode and teaching strategies have been explored. To enrich the diversity of the history classroom, promote to cultivate students’ literacy of the history, it is necessary to develop history of images.This is not only helpful to stimulate students learning enthusiasm, and carry out the teaching goal, but also to improve the students’ ability of analysis, comparison and summary of knowledge. Besides, it helps to do the emotional education of students, cultivate them to form the correct values, outlook on life and world view.On the base of claiming the historical pictures,primary meanings, classification and characteristics, we should analyze and illustrate the value of historical image in history teaching of high school, and pay attention to strengthen the development of historical pictures because that the historical picture plays a decisive role in the teaching. According to the requirements of curriculum standards, we should pay attention to the authenticity of historical pictures, principles of extensiveness and systems when developing curriculum resources, and put forward the development history of pictures finally.In view of problems of the current image of historical materials in history teaching in high school, we have come up with the solutions to problems, for example, teachers use images following the principles of science, availability, typical and time. In the teaching process, only if we master the most primary principles can we make the history classroom teaching better. I wish this paper can offer beneficial reference and enlightenment for history teachers when they use historical images in the classroom teaching, in order to change teachers’ teaching methods and students’ learning ways to implement the requirements of new curriculum standard.
