Secondary vocational teachers are important participants in the activities of vocational education. Their professional identity has greatly influence on their teaching activities, the quality of vocational education and even the development of social. Recent years our country advocates develop the vocational education strongly, so study the professional identity of secondary vocational teachers has important theoretical and practical significance.This study selected 217 secondary vocational teachers in 13 provinces come from different schools. Based on professional cognition, occupation emotion, living environment, occupational status and development of the career five dimensions to design this research and used literature research, questionnaire conduct research and interviews to find out the current situation of China’s secondary vocational school teachers’ professional identity. Emphasis on the secondary vocational school teachers in gender, seniority, education, job title, graduated from normal school or not, the school type, monthly income level, and to analyze the variables identify differences in overall professional identity and the reasons for each dimension. The results show us: The professional identity of secondary vocational school teachers’ level is general, there is still much room for improvement. Different gender of secondary vocational teachers ’professional identity is extremely significant, female teachers’ professional identity level is higher than male teachers’ level. Different seniority of vocational teachers’ professional identity has significant difference. Different education level of secondary vocational education teachers’ professional identity has significant differences, low education levels teachers has low professional identity level. There does not exist difference in different job titles but in the dimension of occupational status. There are significant differences in professional identity between teachers from normal schools or not. Teachers who graduated from normal schools have a relatively high level. The different type of vocational school teachers ’professional identity has significantly difference, those who comes from focus school has higher level in professional identity. There were no significant differences in income levels. Finally made some suggestions to increase the current level of secondary vocational teachers’ professional identity, mainly in social side, school side and the teachers themselves.
