The collaboration of family and school which is one of the directions of education nowadays has inspired great attention of people from all over the world, especially professionals in the field of education. The present study probed into the family-school collaboration and investigated fully the individual case to get the successful experience and summarize the existing problems and to find the reasons and some better countermeasures for the further development of it using Weifang S Middle School as the study object.Firstly, this paper defined the background of the selected topic, the research significance, several basic conceptions, research object, contents and approaches. Then tow main aspects are studied: on the one hand, the history and current situation of family-school collaboration both at home and abroad are summarized using the document research; on the other hand, the development history, current situation of implementation and the achievements of the family-school collaboration were straightened out using Weifang S Middle School as the study object. In the actual study,the representative school leaders, teachers, students and parents were interviewed while on-site observation, questionnaires were being conducted at the same time,gathering much authentic information, which offered the factual basis for the later question analysis and the proposal of countermeasures.Then, the successful results and reasons of the school’s family-school collaboration were summarized: first, the prerequisite of the collaboration is the establishment of the cooperative community; second, the establishment of the standard and sound organizational system guarantees the smooth cooperation; third, that a good communication in the family-school collaboration can offer a basis cant be ignored;finally, both of the two parties in the collaboration should have a clear and defined power and responsibility for the undertaking of the collaboration. As some experiences were summarized, some shortcomings in this school’s family-school collaboration were also pointed out and whose causes were analyzed: the supervision and restriction from educational authorities are not enough; teachers cant get professional development; the ideological understanding of the two parties in the collaboration is not clear or unitive. To guarantee the further development of this school’s collaborationbased on the current success achieved and existing problems, some countermeasures were proposed: to enforce the educational authorities’ supervision and restriction mechanism; to highlight that the centre of the family-school collaboration is students;to encourage the enthusiasm of both the teachers and students’ parents; to set up the relevant system for supervising and evaluating the school-family collaboration; to focus on the synchronous mental health education for both students’ parents and the school; to make the power and responsibility clearer and intensify both parties’ responsibility.In this paper, the author cited the successful experiences of Weifang S Middle School’s education community comprising school, family, neighborhood and society which is the development direction for the practical exploration of family-school collaboration based on the school’s own practical situation. But now more theoretical support for this can not be guaranteed, which could be used as a starting discussion for more family-school collaboration researchers and practioners to do a further research.
