As the reform of school physical education teaching method going deep continuously, and the types of course growing variously, in order to meet the needs of the common development of all ages, educator need to take a further reform in physical education teaching, to explore, and to update conceptions of education. Today, with the development of tennis teaching, “Play&Stay” tennis which has a particular thinking and innovative mode, shows a great correlation with the physical education teaching development goals in the new situation. In this paper, the contrast situation of teaching experiment sustained “Play&Stay” tennis teaching research to explore the help and influence of “Play&Stay” tennis teaching method in primary schools tennis teaching.With the methods of documentation, experiment, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, this paper researched on characteristics of “Play&Stay” tennis teaching method 、teaching mode and teaching program deeply and meticulously.This research focused on 60students(aged 10-11) from a tennis interest class in xi ’an high-tech international elementary school, and divided them into the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group used “Play&Stay” tennis teaching method, and the control group with a traditional teaching methods. After the experiment, we tested on two groups of students respectively and analyzed data, which lead to the following conclusions.1.Students’ physical quality has been improved in the same way with “Play&Stay” tennis teaching method in the experiment. Part of elementary school physical education standard test project like 60 seconds rope skipping、50 meters、and standing long jump are improved in different extent.2.Bring the “Play&Stay” tennis teaching method into the primary school physical education can greatly stimulate the students’ interest in tennis without affecting students’ physical training and exercise intensity at the same time, and the organization was suitable for elementary school students at the very beginning of gaining tennis skills. “Play&Stay” greatly improved the teaching quality and efficiency, and can give full play to the active role of "teaching and learning".3.As a new teaching mode, “Play&Stay” effectively created a vivid, lively, independent learning atmosphere, made the students’ autonomy and creativity develop effectively. During the practice, students communicated between each other, which is more than with teachers. It gradually formed a mutual guidance, exchanges between students, which is more conducive to the students to use their own mode of thinking, cognitive attitude, subjective initiative through play, so as to make greater progress.4.“Play&Stay” tennis teaching made an evaluation of the tennis technical description, and there was no significant difference, but through experiment contrast, we can find something to to draw lessons from the parts.5.With comparative analysis of the teaching experiment, the experimental group students’ judgment in bounce, lines, and flight trajectory is better than that in the control group after the teaching; in tennis action description, the experimental group is slightly better than the control group; while in the tennis skill standard test, experimental group is better than the control group with significant difference.
