This paper elaborates the concept of modern physical agriculture, it is classified by electrics, magnetics, sound wave, laser, radiation and nuclear technology, satellites and space technology and so on, analyzes and concludes the physical technology application in modern agriculture. Compared with the traditional chemical agriculture, the modern physical agriculture has many advantages, such as not affected by the weather, comprehensive prevention and control of plant disease and insect pests, no pollution to the environment, harmless to the operator health. At the same time, the modern agriculture can cultivate the soil, improve the quality of the crops, promote the crops early. It can produce the pollution-free food, and it is the green ecological agriculture. It can realize the sustainable development of resources and environment. All of the above cannot be reached by traditional chemical agriculture. The paper also expounds the application research and development trend of modern physical agriculture at home and abroad, analyzes the existing problems of the modern physical agriculture in our country, and puts forward some strategies for promoting the development of modern physical agriculture:updating the concept, having the correct policy guidance, ensuring the investment in science and technology, and attaching great importance to the talent training.The higher agricultural colleges play an important role in modern physics agricultural education. This paper puts forward that the higher agricultural colleges must pay attention to the status of the university physics and its experiment course, and the education function in cultivating modern physical agriculture talents. Then analyzes the present situation and problems of the college physics teaching and teaching material in current higher agricultural colleges, puts forward the corresponding reform measures. In order to enhance the students’ professional knowledge in modern physical agriculture, and prepare for the development of the professional direction in the future, the paper raises the suggestions that adding agricultural physics for elective courses, and plan the teaching content preliminary. Meanwhile, this paper expounds the present situation, reform direction and implementation effect of university physical experiment in Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University. Finally, gives the suggestions for the development of teaching staff aimed at the problems existing in higher agricultural colleges.
