Preschool is an important period of social self-concept development.The research adopts The Pictorial Scale of Perceived Competetence and Social Acceptance for Young Children(PSPCSA) to test 120 children in a kindergarten in Beijing,the results of self-concept development characteristics aged 4 to 6 are as the following:1.The peer acceptance self-concept of children aged 4 to 6 is best,cognitive ability self-concept is second,followed by maternal acceptance self-concept and body physical ability self-concept.2.The conformity is significantly different among children aged 4 、 5 and 6 in self-cincept and all the dimensions, children aged 6 is fist, children aged 5 is second and children aged 4 is last in self-concept,peer acceptance,maternal acceptance and cognitive ability dimensions,however, children aged 6 is fist, children aged 4 is second and children aged 5 is last in physical ability dimension.The conformity children aged 5 is significantly different from children aged 6 in self-concept and all the dimensions. The conformity children aged 4 is significantly different from children aged 6 in peer acceptance and physical ability dimensions.There is no differece between children aged 4 and children aged 5; there is no differece between children aged 4 and children aged 6 in cognitive ability and maternal acceptance dimensions.3.The conformity is significantly different between girls and boys in self-concept,peer acceptance,maternal acceptance and physical ability dimensions,girls are better than boys. The conformity is significantly different between girls aged 4 and boys aged 4 in cognitive ability,girls are better than boys;there is no differece between girls aged 4 and boys aged 4 in self-concept,peer acceptance,physical ability and maternal acceptance dimensions. The conformity is significantly different between girls aged 5 and boys aged 5 in self-concept,peer acceptance,maternal acceptance and cognitive ability dimensions,girls are better thanboys; there is no differece between girls aged 5 and boys aged 5 in physical ability and maternal acceptance. The conformity is significantly different between girls aged6 and boys aged 6 in self-concept and physical ability dimensions,girls are better than boys; there is no differece between girls aged 6 and boys aged 6 in peer acceptance,maternal acceptance and cognitive ability dimensions.
