Tao Xingzhi is a very important and forward-looking education reformer and practitioner of the modern times in our country. He studied the education thought created by American educator Dewey. After he experimented in Xiaozhuang and rooted his theory in the reality in China, he then proposed the theory of life education based on the shortcomings of traditional education in China, which plays a very important role in guiding the education in our country, whether under the special background at that time or for today’s education teaching reform.Nowadays, the composition of Chinese in the university entrance exam has been into the era of big points. In 2014, a big composition and a small composition appeared at the same time, which reflected the more importance the society attached to composition. But the problem of composition teaching and reform still exists. What’s more, a good way to solve the problem hasn’t been found.During the many years of teaching process, the problem has been bothering me too. Therefore, I have been strengthening the observation in the classroom teaching, and accumulating the raw material for student writing while correcting students’compositions. After class while reflecting on my teaching process, I have been reading expert thesis extensively and trying to be open to their good suggestions. The most important is to put into practice what I have learnt. This paper argues that to improve the high school students’composition, the problem of its origin must be solved first. That is, we should find the nature of student writing problems by analyzing the reasons why the students fail the writing. We can obtain a very good enlightenment to solve the problem from Tao Xingzhi’s life education theory-----students’ composition should come from their life because if there were no life, there would be nothing to write about. As a result, when carrying out the teaching reform in composition, we should bear this in mind.So combining with the theory, the author of this paper has been making constant tries in teaching practices in recent years. In view of the problems of being adult-like, false, and technical that still exist in current high school compositions, the author proposes some solutions, such as "the reflection on themselves and express sincere", "focus on life, return to nature", "teaching reform, thinking training", and so on, and what’s more, he makes some specific attempts from the perspective of classroom maneuverability. On top of this, the author also tries to find a new training system for composition, such as training in the composition based on "observe-experience-imagine-sequence, and the heterogeneous method based on it and "small writing".
