Nowadays, the explosive growth of information and the development of the society have promoted the requirement of talent cultivation to be raised to a new level. The new teaching methods came into being, and the education informationization has become the direction of the new curriculum reform. One of the core tasks of the curriculum reform is to help students changing from a single, passive learning style to the active and full of personality under the guidance of the teacher. In view of this, the multimedia assisted instruction is more and more widely used in English classroom teaching, and has achieved remarkable results. However, due to various reasons, there are also some problems in the process of Multimedia Assisted English classroom teaching, so its application in classroom teaching has not really achieved the ideal effect.This paper mainly used the method of interview and questionnaire survey to investigate the multimedia-aided English teaching status of the third school of Harbin City, choosing the principal, the English teachers and some students in the high school as the object of investigation. Based on the theory of constructivism and the two language acquisition theory, this paper mainly focused on the following situations:school multimedia configuration, the school attitudes towards multimedia assisted instruction, teachers’ basic information literacy, teachers’ attitude and usage of multimedia, the disadvantages of multimedia teaching, the teaching situation of the multimedia in the flipped classroom teaching mode, students’ attitude towards the function of multimedia in the creation of the teaching situation of the classroom, the classroom interaction and improving the efficiency of teaching.Through the statistics analysis of the investigation results, the multimedia-aided English teaching status of the third school of Harbin City mainly exist in the following problems:teachers’ information literacy should be improved; teaching course ware lacked pertinence, repeatedly used the same course ware; teachers regarded themselves as the center, lack of attention to learners; teachers ignore the interaction between students; teachers were too dependent on the multimedia; course ware making were too fancy, distracting; lack of the link of teaching; pouring knowledge into the students, resulting in low efficiency of teaching.To solve the above problems, this paper put forward the following solutions:firstly, improving the teachers’ ability; secondly, the classroom basis from the knowledge to the relationship; thirdly, understanding the multimedia assisted teaching rationally; fourthly, organizing students to interactive learning and providing opportunities for interaction; fifthly, focusing on learning process, and guiding students to learn.In view of the problems of multimedia-aided English teaching existing in the new information environment, this paper carried out a detailed investigation and study, in order to provide help for the first line teachers teaching work, and be helpful to carry out theoretical guidance for the high school English teachers in using the multimedia assisted teaching.
