Task-based teaching in math classes of junior middle school is one presentation mode of comprehensive and practice part of Standards of Math Curriculum of National Compulsory Education(2011 Edition) in the third study section(Grade7 to Grade 9), and is a new teaching mode. It is also one important point of new curriculum reform. Task-based teaching is one comprehensive and exploratory learning based on research, and focused on problem-solving. In middle and primary school, task-based teaching means a lot to students’ overall development.and teachers’ professional growth,and what’s more, to implement the new curriculum concept.In our text books, the material of task-based teaching mostly comes from our daily life to meet living needs, and at the same time stimulate learning interest, and cultivate students’ ability of analysis, exploration, manipulation, and cooperation. But class hour specially for task-based teaching is too short. Actually, teachers take different attitude towards task-based teaching and many of them even ignore these parts since these parts seem to be useless, while more teachers have no idea how to handle these lessons. In this case, I share some ideas about task-based teaching based on my teaching experience and domestic and international study on this topic.In our daily learning, there are various patterns of task-based teaching in math class. Mathematical design and survey, mathematical exploration, and mathematical modeling are all available to math teachers. Activities are main characteristic and significant points of task-based teaching. The article mainly talks about different patterns of task-based teaching, and give some specific suggestions as well. A well organized class can promote students’ interest and enthusiasm, and proper situation design helps students experience how our knowledge comes into being and the happiness of exploration. Different situation needs different pattern, which requires teachers’well design. An efficient class depends on our understanding on subjects, the teaching patterns, activities, and also the evaluations. Being focused on procedure, we should pay more attention to what students gain from the activity, which is the foundation of students’progress. The purpose of teaching is to help students enjoy themselves while learning and make progress.
