Since a new round of curricula reformed, history teaching is not just to teach students the knowledge anymore, but to improve their abilities and skills of historical knowledge.In terms of class selection, with an eye on the important role of the United States in the history of the world, combined with practical considerations, I choose "The Bretton Woods System "which is typical in the Modern World History as the main discuss object in this article.Combined with the specific requirements of the new curriculum reform, this paper discusses the problem of teaching materials added in history teaching, and integrates some related knowledge points in the existing history teaching textbook. It also proposes some comments and suggestions for editing middle school history textbook. It will be helpful for providing historical data supplement in the middle school history teaching.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part of the paper describes the importance of historical materials supplement in middle school history teaching. The non-renewable property of history determines that it is very important to add history materials. This part will demonstrate importance from five aspects.The second part describes the situation and effect of high school teaching supplementary and set the stage for later.The third part starts from the perspective of teaching, and make supplement relevant knowledge of the Bretton Wood System. It mainly elaborates from two aspects. This section is most closely with practice teaching, so it’s the focus of this article.Based on previous three parts the fourth part in this paper continues to explain the principles and items of the historical supplementary. I hope the paper may provide certain guiding significance in the practical teaching.
