The role of teacher for the development of education is obvious, the professional quality of teachers is on behalf of the educational quality of a country. In recent years,China’s education reform is full of swing, it is more and more urgent to promote the professional development of teachers. Rural education is a key link of the whole education enterprise in our country, rural compulsory teachers’ professional development level is not only related on the development of rural educational itself, but also related on the success or failure of the whole education career. Therefore, to explore the present situation and reason analysis of teachers’ professional development in rural compulsory education stage, and to put forward to improve strategy conforming to the times become the research focus. This paper selects rural junior middle school teachers as research group, it introduces the special elements of urbanization in the process of exploring the professional development of rural junior middle teachers, that is the professional development of rural junior middle school teachers in the background of urbanization.After reform and opening to the outside world, some countryside in coastal areas develop gradually into middle and small towns. The sociologist Fei Xiaotong first suggested “small towns, big problems”. Urbanization from industrialization in the early stage of founding to the new period of rapid development after 18 th CPC National Congress experiences a long period.The statistics report of the national bureau shows that China’s urbanization rate reached 52%in 2015, around 65% in 2030. It is expected to remain a rapid advance in the near future,through the analysis of the effect of urbanization strategy for rural teachers’ professional development, and then analyzes the countryside junior middle school teachers’ professional development, finally put forward the strategy to promote the professional development of the rural junior middle school teachers.This paper is consisted of preface, three chapters of main body and the conclusion, five parts in total.The first part: introduction. It includes the reason of the research, the theoretical and practical value, related research on urbanization and teachers’ professional development, the research methods, the innovation of this research, the concept of urbanization and rural teachers’ professional development.The second part: The influence of rural teachers’ professional development from urbanization. It analyses the influence on rural compulsory education from urbanization strategies. Urbanization brought advantages on teachers’ professional development, it also describes the problem and challenges of professional development brought by urbanization in a detail:The third part: the present situation of the rural junior middle school teachers’ professional development under the background of urbanization and the reasons analysis. This part analyses the status and reasons of teachers’ professional development of Xinle City,Hebei Province, and it analyzes the reasons from four aspects of the school, policy, social environment,and teachers themselves.The fourth part: the strategies of rural junior middle school teachers’ professional development under the background of urbanization. Combined with the background of urbanization and the status and problems of rural junior middle school teachers’ professional development, the paper puts forward the improve strategies from policy, school and teaching management strategies, teachers themselves of three aspects.The fifth part: Conclusion. This part gives the summary and prospects of rural teachers’ professional development strategies in the process of urbanization, points out the shortcoming of the study and effort direction in the future.
