Learned helplessness is first put forward by an American psychologist named Seligman in 1967, it refers to the organism show negative and special psychology state in the emotion, cognition and behaviours after some kind of learning.Presently, with the research about theory of learned helplessness furthering on, this theory is widely used in education life and work. To prevent and mitigate the development of negative psychology state, understanding the causes of learned helplessness is very helpful for secondary vocational students to overcome learned helplessness in their study life.In order to find out the causes of the formation of the students’ learned helplessness in the secondary vocational school,in this study, I analyzed the performance and harm of the secondary vocational school students’ learned helplessness by ways of positive side observation, questionnaire survey, interview and literature search. After a thorough inquiry from inside and outside two aspects, we found besides Inappropriate attribution and the lacking of achievements, their families, teachers, schools, and the society all had effects on them.To solve the secondary vocational students’ learned helplessness firstly, we should begin by studying the causes. In their own respect, we should guide the students to make the correct attributions, help them enhance self-awareness,encourage students to learn to praise themselves; In the extrinsic respect, we should pay attention to parent-school cooperations to improve family education efficiency, communicate between teachers and students for positive emotion teaching, the school put a higher premium to implement education by all staff participation for overall students-training, the government should provide policy supports to improve their vocational education status.
