Nowadays, there are some imbalance between teaching freedom and discipline in primary and secondary schools. The phenomenon of “template” teaching in primary and secondary schools is widespread, which is harmful to teaching management,teachers’ teaching and students’ learning. In the teaching of primary and secondary schools, we should grasp the degree of freedom and discipline, promote the effective teaching management, teachers’ teaching has achieved good results, students’ learn knowledge and wisdom. Whitehead’s principle of freedom and discipline emphasizes that “freedom- discipline – freedom” in education can be used in education, which has profound significance for the understanding of the harm of the template of the primary and secondary schools and the overcoming of it. In teaching grasp rhythm of the“freedom- discipline – freedom”, both have the discipline to all the teachers and students in inappropriate behavior constraints, and to have the freedom to make the teachers and students within the scope of the effective development of personality,balance coordination of freedom and discipline to overcome small teaching template phenomenon, in primary school teaching should be more teachers’ and students’ spatial less regulation to promote the development of schools, teachers and students to better.The first chapter is the introduction, this chapter mainly elaborates the reason of choosing the topic, the literature review, the concept definition, the research significance, the content, the method, the innovation place.The second chapter, in view of this paper is based on Whitehead’s freedom and discipline to overcome in primary and secondary schools the “template”phenomenon,so this chapter aims to explain and in-depth study of Whitehead’s freedom and discipline, concrete research content: education is constitutes a “free- discipline- free”triple rhythm cycle; principles of free and discipline rhythm is rhythm principle for education; in education grasp the balance of freedom and discipline.The third chapter mainly introduces the meaning of “template”, “teaching pattern”and “template”;the reasons of “template”;phenomenon exists generally, specific performance in the three aspects of teaching management, teachers and students.The fourth chapter expounds the “emplate” to the harm of primary and secondary school, the harm embodied in three aspects:First,on teaching management, “template”to promote teaching management power is too concentrated, teachers in the teaching management in lack of discourse right. Second, the teaching of “template” in the teachers to prevent the formation of teaching style teachers; teachers lack ofenthusiasm for innovation; hinder the ability of teachers to improve teaching. Third,teaching “template” in the students to the students to gain wisdom; restrain students creativity; ignore the student’s personality development needs. This is one of the innovations of this paper.The fifth chapter based on Whitehead’s freedom and discipline rhythm principle to overcome the “template” in present primary and middle schools,it all has the three strategies: First, in terms of teaching management, teaching management avoid excessive concentration of power and form the teaching management of democracy and freedom; teacher’s management should give enough “free”, respect for the views of teachers; let the students went out of the classroom and then back to the classroom,respect the subject status of students. Second, in terms of teachers, reduce the tube bundle to give space and encourage teachers to form a unique style; respect for the freedom of teachers teaching, arouse teachers’ enthusiasm for innovation; coordination of freedom and rules, improve teachers’ teaching ability. Third, in the aspect of students, reduce mandatory norms and the release of the nature of students, arouse the student wisdom spark; with proper training and enlarge freedom tension, to inspire students’ innovative ability; regulating the relationship between freedom and discipline,adapt to the personality development of students. This is also the second innovation of this paper.
