This thesis is talking about implementation obstacles and countermeasures of flipped classroom in middle school’s English teaching. At the beginning, a number of scholars believe that the flipped classroom could improve students’ autonomous learning ability and enhance the interaction between teachers and students, which meet the requirements of the new curriculum reform in China. Therefore,many researches focus on the origin, definition, advantages and feasibility of the flipped classroom in China until now. However, flipped classroom stems from western country, it cannot be totally appropriate for China,and there are few studies on implementation obstacles and the countermeasures of the flipped classroom. In order to solve these problems and make flipped classroom better fit China’s Education, the following main problems should be solved in this thesis:(1) What are implementation obstacles of flipped classroom?(2) What are countermeasures about implementation obstacles of flipped classroom?In order to solve these two problems, the author hands out the questionnaires for teachers and students in many middle schools of Changsha. Ninety-one students and 43 teachers are involved in the questionnaire. The questionnaire is to ask for implementation obstacles offlipped classroom. At the same time, the author observes 5 teachers and their classes. The data are analyzed by EXCEL of WINDOWS in order to find the obstacles. After that, the author interviews 5 teachers and 10 students to find the countermeasures.From the research, implementation obstacles of flipped classroom are different between teachers and students,and they respectively give some countermeasures. From teachers’ view, the following implementation obstacles exist: hardware facilities, professional knowledge, professional skills, interaction with students and teaching pressure of teachers.Through observation and interview, some countermeasures are given in these aspects. From students’ view, the following implementation obstacles exist: hardware facilities, interaction,mastery of knowledge, study habits and study pressure. Some countermeasures are also given from interviews and observations.
