PE training and practice always take place in the open air. The risks in PE classes are much higher than any other subjects due to the following reasons. Firstly, they are greatly affected by the situation of the playground, equipment and weather. Secondly, some of the items are really difficult and violet for the students, which add to the uncertainty. Although the accidents in PE classes have impact on the school and the society, PE classes not only help students build up their healthy body, but also enable them to pay more attention to safety and self-protection, making them have healthy mind and be more capable of adapting to the society. It’s not wise to stop PE training and practice because of these risks and accidents in PE classes. But as we all know, these accidents are really destructive disasters for a family, which constantly cause them to argue with the teacher or the school. The public may know little about the risks in PE classes, they with the social media always incline towards the students and the family. Once there happens an accident, the education authority department blames only on the teachers and the school, which increase the pressure on the teachers and make them avoid some of the PE items or decrease the difficulty without the permission from the school. As a result, the standard of the PE classes is too far away from the syllabus, which causes a series of problems, such as the fall of students’ constitution and it also becomes a heated subject in our society. Facing with the serious issue, PE teachers should not avoid the risks in the teaching but confront the difficulties actively.Based on the theory of risk management and the features of the PE classes, we finish a research and analyze the risks in PE classes and promote a model of dealing with them by enrolling the teachers, students, parents, schools and society in the system of risk management, leading the public to recognize the risks in PE, improving their awareness and ability to deal with the accidents, enabling students cope with different accidents and unexpected events. Practical and effective strategies on coping with risks have been put forward in this article, which can help improve the efficiency of riskmanagement and provide some reference to help ensure the PE teaching and training go on smoothly in the primary and secondary schools.
