Under the influence of environmental pollution, climate change and the construction of ecological society, nuclear power projects have been re-introduced to China's energy strategy agenda. However, there is a gap between the attitude of the public and experts in treating nuclear power plants. The public's attitude and behavior to nuclear power plants are not only related to the development of nuclear power plants, but also to the protection of the basic rights and living standards of the residents around the nuclear power plants. For this reason, based on the survey of residents around NDNP,this paper attempts to explore the risk attitudes and the coping behavior of residents facing the location of nuclear power plants from the perspectives of risks, interests, knowledge, trust related to nuclear energy. This study mainly visited local residents of four rural communities within 10 km of the NDNP.The study found that there are four types of attitudes of neighboring residents:(1)Opposition,which means residents are opposed to the location of nuclear power plants;(2)Reluctantly accepting that residents are not willing to choose nuclear power plants locally, but based on national authority Obedience can only accept the status quo;(3)Support means that the residents agree to the location of the nuclear power plant;(4)It does not matter.whether the residents do not pay attention to the risks and benefits brought by the nuclear power station. The corresponding behaviors are as follows:The opposition believe that the nuclear power plant causes their livelihood to be damaged, and adopts objections such as petitioning for rights protection;Residents who are reluctant to accept are silent because of less social capital;Residents supporting actively adapt to related employment;Residents who are not concerned about themselves are used to living around the nuclear power plant and have no behavioral response.Further analysis shows that under the influence of risk perception, interest involvement, knowledge and trust, residents' attitudes and behaviors are consistent, which are as follows:(1)Risk perception and interest involve the risk attitudes of residents.Residents have limited knowledge of nuclear power and often perceive risks based on their daily life experience and social identity, and tend to oppose, support and accept attitudes.Residents with a high degree of interest tend to oppose or support, and residents with a lower level of interest tend to be silent and unrelated.(2)Interest involvement affects Residents'Coping Behavior. The social status of the residents indicates that they can mobilize less power resources and insufficient economic capital, and they need to measure the degree of loss while pursuing their interests.Based on the ethics of-survival,residents choose to oppose, adapt, silence, and act as actions to maximize benefits.Based on the above results, this paper proposes four types based on the"knowledge—interest"analysis, and discusses the corresponding discussion of risk culture, expounding the explanatory power of cultural theory in nuclear risk research.
