With the new requirement of development of times,objective need of economy and politics,demand of basic education and enlightenment of curriculum reform of foreign countries, the eighth curriculum reform of basic education was staged in 1999, which was abbreviated as "the reform of curriculum". Up to 2016, it has been over 10 years since it started. However, it is hard to keep pace with reform and improve the quality of education due to the lagging of economy in rural areas. In such a context, I hope that I can know the reality of geography teachers’ adjusting to reform of new curriculum of junior high school in rural areas, improve their teaching skills and adaptability to the reform of new curriculum by making an investigation and study of geography teachers and students of Liye nationality middle school.The methods of document, case study, questionnaire investigation and interview are used to research the Liye nationality middle school. Based on the theory of multiple intelligence, constructvism, humanism and the visual angle of individual-culture, the reality of geography teachers’ adjusting to the reform of new curriculum of junior high school is analyzed from six aspects:their overall recognition to the reform of new curriculum, the situation of their adjustment to new target, new method of teaching, new comment and new textbook, and their utilizing to curriculum resources. It shows that geography teachers in rural junior middle school are not adapted to the new curriculum reform in these six aspects.And based on this problem, the writer finds school, education policy, students and parents are also the factors of it, except for teachers themselves, by the qualitative and quantitative analysis.Therefore, the writer raises advises:pay attention to the teachers’ emotion in reform of new curriculum; improve the efficiency of training and enhance teachers’professionalization; recognize the relation between the reform of new curriculum and general examination of geography and put the standard of comments into practice; build up the community of multiple class for study; encourage the continuing education and set up the idea of lifelong learning; the local administrative department of education needs to provide support as strategy; reduce the difficulty of the new teaching materials appropriately, which has reference value to improve the adaptability of geography teachers’adjusting to the reform of new curriculum of junior high school.
