Reform Of Wushu Teaching In Colleges And Universities Research On The Inheritance Of Wushu Culture

Chinese Martial Arts, also called Wushu, represents the essence and basic spirits of Chinese traditional culture. As an important carrier of inheriting traditional culture, Wushu has been introduced to educational area, which is very important and meaningful in promoting Chinese traditional culture and cultivating national spirits.With methods of documentary, expert consultation and interviewing, this article discusses some existing problems and solutions in teaching Wushu and inheriting the culture of Wushu in colleges.Nowadays, in regular colleges and universities, Wushu is only treated as a part of PE course, involved in common PE teaching which is mainly constituted by western sports events.During the course of teaching, with the restriction of teaching route and complicated methods, some teachers focus mainly on technical arts rather than the background culture and humanity, their teaching methods are simple, their teaching contents old and boring, causing difficulties in arousing the students’ interests and meeting their increasing demand of keeping healthy. As a result, most college students are fond of Wushu but don’t like Wushu Courses. On the contrary, they show special interest in some fighting arts such as taekwondo and karate.As a culture, Wushu should not only be spreaded and promoted, but also be inherited and educated. The self-awareness of Wushu is the basis of development of Wushu culture, and the self-identity of Wushu culture is the main link of Wushu inheritance.The popularized teaching theory of Wushu should be established with the guidance of the motion requirements of college students. We should reform the Wushu teaching courses in regular colleges and universities, and focus on the inheritance teaching of Wushu culture, the attack and defense teaching to arouse students’ interests in learning Wushu. In this way more and more college students will surely take part in this art and make it a real carrier of national spirits.
