Shanxi province comprehensively promoted the new course revolution in 2008, the pattern of chemistry teaching has undergone change. The regulation of new curriculum standard proposed teachers should pay attention to cultivate students’abilities of self-directed learning and innovative mind. The teaching model of three guides and one test is a study method to cultivate students’ innovative mind, cooperative awareness, self-directed learning, and active exploration. Consequently, it’s necessary to implement the new model in the process of chemistry teaching. This study explores the new teaching way via combine the model’s implementation and research, and studies the effectiveness.First of all, this article summarized some factors of the model of three guides and one test, including the concept, enforcement regulation, research contents, advice feedback and so on, developed the model’s implementation based on the theoretical analysis when the model combined the features of senior students of grade 1 and senior students of grade 2.1 chose my three senior grade one classes including 165 students and two senior grade two classes chosen by random drawing as the objects of investigation. I used the method of questionnaire survey and respectively investigated the condition before using the model and the condition after using the model. In the end, I processed statistic analysis. Results are as follows:1. Most students still approve and like this learning way. They confirm the necessity of the three guides and one test method. The model has improved the abilities of preparation before class, analyzing and solving problems, and team spirit. They also can improve themselves via this learning way. It won’t interfere other subjects but boost them as long as you arrange time properly. Accordingly, it’s necessary to apply the model to chemistry teaching.2. Before carrying out the model, the abilities of grasping knowledge before class, analyzing and solving problems were lagging far behind those after the implementation of the model. Not even the commonest feedback of Unit testing wrong topic has improved a lot since we implemented the model. This fully shows this model brings a lot of positive impacts to students’ attitudes toward study and learning styles. So it can’t be replaced.3. After carrying out the model, students are more than willing to exchange opinions with each other. They prefer to ask for help when they have difficulty solving problems rather than let nature take its course. The understanding of the importance of the model has significantly improved. They more adapt at listening to others’ ideas about those studying problems and enhance their own qualities.4. Through a year of exploration, I think it’s necessary to implement the model of three guides and one test. It can guide students to prepare lessons before class, cultivate the spirit of exploring, and enhance the overall qualities. Although it’s beset with difficulties to carry out the model of three guides and one test in senior high school stage, it’s imperative.
