With the development of information technology, multimedia technology, all kinds of media have been applied to teaching, it has changed the traditional classroom structure, optimized the teaching environment but also caused some negative effect. The main reason is that teachers lack of media teaching theory, and lack of reflection on teaching practice. So in the face of numerous teaching media, the teachers can’t accurately select and combine optimized, eventually it leads to a phenomenon of abusing the media. Therefore, according to the discipline characteristic and study content to study the application of the media is urgently needed. Chemistry as a basic subject in natural science, only by language teaching can’t achieve the ideal teaching effect. If combined with modern media and traditional media such as material object, model, experiment, it will be better able to explain the scientific nature of chemistry and promote the development of students’ multiple intelligences(observation, exercise, thinking, language, etc.) and the non-intelligence factors.(interest, emotion, etc.)This topic is to optimize the application of high school chemistry teaching media, after studying and analyzing some monographs such as the media teaching theory, multimedia learning, education psychology, chemistry teaching theory, this paper used the methods of literature research and case studies to discuss and analyze the media application in different types of chemistry teaching, research findings were as follows:Combining with the characteristics of junior high school students psychological development characteristics, cognitive level and content of chemical learning, this paper not only discussed the media application in factual chemical knowledge, theoretical knowledge and skilled chemical knowledge, but also analyzed the media type selection and design of media content in detail in these cases: on one hand it compared the different media designing of the same knowledge to find out what kind of media designing is better, on the other hand it was based on related theory to evaluate teachers, advantages and disadvantages in media designing. Through case study, this paper dug up some excellent media design ideas and found that the unreasonable application of media, also put forward the solutions for these deficiencies.Finally, under the guidance of media teaching theory, multimedia learning, chemistry teaching theory,this paper through case analysis and research to sum up the basis of media selection and general design principle of the chemistry teaching, which is in order to provide theoretical guidance for teachers to design the media reasonably.
