The Well-being Study Of The Elderly Living In Nanjing Pension Institutions

Population aging is the inevitable outcome of the economic and social development, it has now become a global problem with the population aging increasing. Exploring the optimal model of institutional pension has important practical significance on improving the old-age welfare service system and the quality of life of the elderly, strengthening the elderly subjective well-being. On the above, based on the social embedding theory, the social support theory and the energized theory, this article focuses on elderly mental health of Nanjing endowment mechanism. The samples are Elderly Apartment of Jiangsu province, Red Sun nursing home, Beauty Old Services and Gulou social welfare institute. Put forward three hypotheses:first, the elderly subjective well-being scores of Nanjing pension institution are high in general, which Beauty Old Services scored lowest, and Elderly Apartment of Jiangsu province scored highest. Second, female’s subjective well-being is higher than male, older get lower scores, higher cultural level get higher scores of subjective well-being, and divorced or widowed old people happiness is lower. Third, from the point of institutional factors, life care, disease care, spiritual solace affect the subjective well-being.On the base of analyzing the reliability and validity of MUNSH, in general, questionnaire has good reliability, but poor structure validity.we provide the basic information including gender, age, educational level and marital status. Then calculating elderly well-being scores of four pension institutions.We conclude that elderly well-being scores of Nanjing endowment mechanism are generally high, though there are some differences between each endowment mechanism, which Gulou social welfare institute scored highest, then Red Sun nursing home, then Elderly Apartment of Jiangsu province, and Beauty Old Services scored lowest. Overthrow the first assume.Calculating coefficient between each items and positive affection(PA), negative affection(NA),positive experience(PE),negative experience(NE). In four pension institutions,the NAPA NE coefficient of Red Sun nursing home’s is the largest, which means these dimensions are more sensitive in terms of subjective well-being.Study the influencing factors in the elderly well-being in combination with the results of the questionnaire data and case interview. We find that gender, age, educational level and marital status can effect the level on individual dimension. Male’s subjective well-being is higher than female, older get lower scores, higher cultural level get higher scores of subjective well-being, and divorced or widowed old people happiness is lower.Overthrow the second assume.Life care, disease care and spiritual comfort can effect the level on institutional dimension. The result is consistent with the hypothesis threeCombined with the research, put forward the path of improving well-being level of endowment mechanism:improve the relevant policies of the pension, establishing the mechanism of promoting employees’ professional ability, the concrete application of social work method and pension agency professional development.
