The rural five-guarantee elderly are the vulnerable and marginal groups concerned by the government and all sectors of society.Social workers have also actively explored in the practice of social work for the elderly in recent years.Although the basic material life of the five-guarantee seniors is guaranteed,their demands and rights are often difficult to meet and higher-level spiritual needs are easily overlooked,which will inevitably affect their quality of life in later life.The nursing home where the author is located is a combination of medical and nursing care.Relying on the practice,the author found that the five-guarantee elders are difficult to adapt to the life of the nursing home due to the separation from the old-age environment of the previous home,and due to the irreversible health and age factors The boring life of the hospital day after day led them to appear: problems such as depression and loneliness,emotional depression,social loss and self-denial.The nursing home pays attention to material and medical security,and pays little attention to the spiritual needs of the old people,which makes the spiritual life of the five-guarantee elderly people in a state of numbness for a long time,and the sense of happiness in the elderly life is lacking.How should social workers provide spiritual care for the five-guarantee elderly? Help them to resolve bad emotions,increase the fun of old-age care,and enhance the ability of self-spiritual comfort to meet the emotional needs of the five-guarantee old people.Obtaining the happiness of later life is not only the job of social workers,but also the professionalism of social workers themselves.Challenge.The author uses social work professional methods to intervene in the mental comfort of the Wubao elderly under the model of integrated medical and nursing,and adopts social survey and research methods such as observation,interview,and literature to understand the basic situation of the Wubao elderly in nursing homes.Eighteen five-guarantee seniors and four staff members conducted in-depth interviews.Based on the performance of the mental health status and spiritual needs of the five-guarantee elderly in nursing homes,under the guidance of the theory,the author intervenes in the five-segment group activities through group work methods to help them adapt to the old-age life of the nursing home,increase the fun of life,rebuild social networks,and obtain Happy old age.Finally,through the process evaluation and effect evaluation,the effectiveness of the team’s work method intervention is checked,and the shortcomings are sought to provide experience and reference for future research.
