In the study of Lu-merchants works,the education research of Lu-merchants has been in a blank. At the end of Qing Dynasty and during the period of the Republic of China,the education activities of Lu-merchants are active,which are linked to the development of politics,economy,culture at that time.At the end of Qing Dynasty and during the period of the Republic of China,Lu-merchants had different education levels,but basically all received education,most of them abandoned the confucian to engage in business,some had learned the new culture,began to accept the new western education. Later,they become rich merchants,deeply realized the importance of education,the content and way of the education to their children and employees have unique characteristics. In the aspect of family education,they not only payed attention to the spread of traditional Confucianism and the actual effect of traditional ancestral hall,but also payed attention to the family environment. On the employee’s education, they focused on vocational education,developing their business skills and business ethics,there is also a development and innovation of apprenticeships,which embodies the inheritance,practicality and development of Lu-merchants education.At the end of Qing Dynasty and during the period of the Republic of China,Lu-merchants conducted a series of educational activities,such as seting up free school,donating money to the academy or raising money to open schools.If we investigate its reasons,there are times drivers and inner strength that businessmen associated with the education,in other words,there are the push of the times and life value guidance that gives birth from Chinese traditional culture,especially Confucian culture edification. From the point of objective actual effect,their behaviors not only directly promote the development of education of the family, what’s more important is to form a good and deep effect that people are concerned about education career. At the end of Qing Dynasty and during the period of the Republic of China,Lu-merchants ran schools with some characteristics,such as halls to run school,the diversity of the school,the regional of the school.In order to more clearly understand the worker training and education activities of Lu-merchants, especially take East Asia Company as a case study in this paper. Analyze the 《Sound of East Asia Company》,《Inscription of East Asia Company》, 《Spirit Notes of East Asia Company》, 《Ark》 etc.At the end of Qing Dynasty and during the period of the Republic of China,the education activities of Lu-merchants have positive effect on the vocational education, professional ethics education and family education,and also make a great contribution to the local education.At the same time,the patriotism education and investment activities not only enrich the life of the merchants,enhance the value of life,more important is forming a good social atmosphere. In the education activities we should consider the positive significance,at the same time also can not ignore its limitations, such as talents that they trained is feudal talents,its heavy righteousness has not meet the demands of business expansion.
