Co-schooling Han nationality and ethnic minorities refers to the school management model of both Minority language class and Han language class in a same school by using Minority language and Han language for education at the same time. Understood from the text, "Bilingual Teaching" is the mode by using or partialy using two languages in teaching. There are two main models to carry out the teaching in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region: Model one: The courses of Chinese, foreign language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology,general technology and information technology in Senior school use national common language for teaching, while other courses use the native language for teaching. Model one:All courses use the national language for teaching, and set up minority language course.Schools that do not have qualified teachers can use native language to teach sports, music, and art courses. Most schools in Urumqi City implement the second model for teaching. This paper conducts a systematic investigation and study on the present situation of Art Education against the Bilingual Class in senior school of Urumqi City(simplified as bilingual class). This paper can sort out the beneficial results and existing problems in art education of bilingual class in Urumqi and put forward its own points of view. Therefore, the paper hopes to do a basic research on related subjects through the investigation and arrangement of the present situation. According to the typical and representative selection principles, the paper selects four typical co-schoolings Han nationality and ethnic minorities in Urumqi City as investigation object. And respectively, these four schools are Urumqi senior high school,Urumqi City twentieth middle school, Urumqi twenty-third middle school, and Urumqi City thirty-sixth middle school. In the study, the art education in Urumqi senior high school is systematically investigated and analyzed, and the accumulated experience and existing problems are also summarized. What’s more, there exist four prominent problems: 1,Insufficient class hours; 2, Great difference in teaching environment; 3, Part of the art teachers is poor in Chinese ability, which can not meet the normal teaching requirement; 4, The newcurriculum reform of Art could not be properly implemented in some schools because of conditional restriction. So this paper analyzes the reasons, and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. And, it provides a more systematic study data for further discussing art teaching methods in bilingual class, so as to easily implement better teaching methods and policies in the future.This paper is divided into four parts.Chapter 1, Describes the background of the topic, conclude the purpose and significance of the research.And introduce the main research methods and process.Chapter 2, Makes a summary on generating background and present situation of bilingual class of co-schooling Han nationality and ethnic minorities in senior school of Urumqi City.Chapter 3, This paper proceeds the research from the following five aspects: Composition of students and education management situation, Facilities and using conditions, Teaching staff, Students and Art teaching situation. And this paper mainly counts and classifies the related data obtained from the four bilingal classes by spot investigation of the author, clearly displays and analyzes the present situation of bilingal classes in co-schooling Han nationality and ethnic minorities by using the form of tabble, and finally puts forward existing problems.Chapter 4, In the light of the arising problems of bilingal classes in co-schooling Han nationality and ethnic minorities in Urumqi City, the paper makes four basic countermeasures and suggestions, and then explains them in details.
