The problem solving process of students is a complicated mental process which involves the use of various ability including characterization, planning, strategy implementation, evaluation and so on. Now, our teachers pay more attention to whether students can translate information efficiently, choose problem-solving strategies quickly and reasonably, and remember concept clearly. Most of them ignore the cultivation of students’ self-monitoring.Self-monitoring is students controlling their own psychology and behavior. Through evaluating their defects and advantages reasonably, they can adjust their plans, learning methods, learning habits and so on to improve their efficiency and effect. In order to attract teachers’ and students’ attention to the self-monitoring, in present study, researchers will cultivate students about their consciousness and ability of self-monitoring to verify the following questions:1. How do students’ability and consciousness of self-monitoring affect their ability of problem-solving?2. What will happened to students with different metacognitive capability if students’ self-monitoring ability is improved?3. Can students solve every kind of problem by self correcting?4.According to the results, reasonable teaching suggestions will be putted fordward. The results of the study show that by highlighting and training the ability of self-monitoring, the problem-solving ability of students is improved. And students with different metacognitive capability get different degrees of progress. The other result is that different teaching measures should be taken according to different types of questions:if the question is low difficult and needs low requirements of thinking to solve, teachers can let students correct by themselves which can help them constructing knowledge significantly, cultivate the habit of active thinking, experience the fun of autonomous learning and improve the interest in learning.; if the question is difficult and needs high requirements of thinking to solve, it should be solved by cooperation between teacher and student or student and student which can develop students’divergent thinking, help them express their ideas courageously and cultivate the spirit of cooperation to explore.
