Since the reformation of the teaching model in Chongqing in 2001, the methodical and pedagogical requirements on teaching geography increased accordingly. The reformed model not only emphasizes the learning of theoretical fundamentals but also encourages a culture of critical thinking and introspection among students. The traditional classroom, where teachers lecture while students listen and accept the information, is therefore partly incompatible with the new, reformed approach. In recent years, with the development of information technology, a new teaching model called "Flipped Class Model (FCM)" has attracted a lot of attention. It combines a series of teaching strategies with information technologies. Besides FMCs focus on offering knowledge-based learning resources is also stresses the students’ individualized learning, as well as collaborative learning.Therefore, this thesis will derive teaching strategies from both the FCM and traditional high school geography courses by analyzing these approaches. Furthermore, this study conducts an empirical research comparing domestic and foreign FCM characteristics as well as analyzing high school students learning features. Resulting from that, this paper designs a FMC geography course for high school students which is based on the "QQ" platform, considering scientific models and theories like system science, cognitive theory, constructivist theory and humanistic theory.Through two example courses, the researcher generated a profound research base and discusses the teaching strategies, learning resources and platforms technologies. This thesis utilizes process evaluation and summative evaluation to collect and evaluate the experimental data, including questionnaires, interviews, performance reviews.The results indicate that FCM can effectively enhance the high school students learning motivation and interest, improve students’ academic performance, reinforce students’ collaboration capabilities and generally increase comprehensive capabilities.
