Special Physical education is the important part of contentthat disabled students enjoy the right,andit is also the need for their physical and mental development. It is very important to carry out the development and protection of special physical education. Through literature, questionnaire, field trips, mathematical statistics and other methods, we conducted a surveyof PE teachers in 42 special education schools nationwide, which is designed to put forward basis for the development of special education. The main contents are as follows:(1)the structure of Special Education School teachers has the following characteristics: the proportion of men is higher than women’s; in the age structure,young and middle-aged teachers is the most part; most of the teachers have shortseniority and lack of teaching experience; the major structure of special PE teachers is complicated and unreasonable;for the educational structure,most of them are undergraduate education level. Irrational team structure will hinder teachers’ development to better direction.(2) At present,The teaching mode of China special education schools is based on the “part of the package”,which is aided by the teaching modeof all-inclusive status and subject mode,In the case of partial packages and all-inclusive approach is generally carried out, PE teachers will teach selective course, school-based courses and other courses exceptphysical education. In physical education teaching, teachers and students ratio is irrational, the major categories of disability to participate in physical education is Down, autism and common retarded.(3)Six field of knowledge which needs to be strengthen mostlyare:the knowledge of motor development assessment;practical experience for students with disabilities;the existing teaching materials and teaching content of the course;choose appropriate teaching strategies and methods, the ability to effectively implement physical education teaching;physical and mental development of different types of disability;to master the basic knowledge and methods of behavior management and security. From the type of disability,it is the knowledge of autism students which mostlyneeds strengthen. Special education teachers have comprehensive understanding of their own, and with a strong sense of knowledge, lack of experience and knowledge of disability are the main problem currently.(4) The efficacy expectation level of placement by age is higher than by type of disability and by the capacity of disabilities. PE teachers has the highefficacy expectation level of Down, cerebral palsy and common retarded students. PE teachers think they are the most capable of using purchase props effectiveand choosing teaching strategies and teaching methods.
