In recent years, information technology has penetrated into all walks. Inter-disciplinary talents with marginalization and Socialization have been more and more attached importance to by the society.At the same time as the education curriculum reform has entered a crucial period, the traditional mode which takes teachers as the center appears more and more disadvantages. With the development of information technology is defined as the core strategy for the development of the reform, the research of educational marginalization has become a strong power to motivate the education curriculum reform. Tianditu as a new technology of geographic information, has unique advantages in our country’s basic geographic data. The problems in teaching can be better solved by studying the application of Tianditu in geography teaching in middle school and constructing the teaching mode under the support of geographic information technology. It can get the goal of improving the teaching quality and learning efficiency. So this study has a positive effect on the geography teaching with Tianditu.First of all, the study mainly introduces the background, purpose and significance of studying the information technology in education and the new curriculum reform. The study analyzes the present situation in domestic and foreign research that help us get the enlightenment to study better,find the problems in present study and put forward the research method.Secondly, using the method of literature research, describes the Tianditu technical support of geography teaching concept, structure, characteristics, connotation, and from two aspects of marginalization of education theory and constructivist theory discusses the theoretical basis of teaching mode.Thirdly, the study addresses the value and the advantages of Tianditu in teaching. Combined with the course of City and Environment in Hunan Education Edition version Required Course II, the study integrates Tianditu and three-dimensional course and aims to finish the research of geography teaching that has the assistance of Tianditu.Finally, by contrast analysis, the study learns from other disciplines principle in teaching design, and constructs the design principles and design ideas of teaching model that uses geographic information.the design principles and design ideas contains that the theory should be combined with practice, the autonomy, cooperation and inquiry learning in students should be emphasized and students’all-round development and information literacy should be paid attention to.Under the guidance of these design principles, the teaching mode called "infiltration-consolidation" is constructed, and the corresponding teaching cases are designed.
