| Basic concept of mathematics courses states that, "mathematics courses shall focus on realization of development purpose of compulsory education, facing all students, adapting to individual development of each student to ensure that everyone can obtain good mathematics education and different student will have different development in mathematics." To adapt to the basic concept of new courses, PEP edition textbooks include three segments "do you know?", "mathematics in life" and "mathematics game" into it (hereinafter referred to as "reading materials") which not only enrich the mathematics textbook but also stimulate study and learning interests of students and expand student’s vision. However, in actual education, "reading materials" are usually overlooked by teachers. As supplementary teaching materials, reading materials aren’t required to be taught aggressively in the class, its education function can’t be replaced. Therefore, in-depth study on application of "reading materials" in textbook of high section of primary mathematics will help play the education function of reading materials to further improve in-class education.Given all these, the study took PEP 2011 edition textbook of high section of primary mathematics textbooks as study object and systematically studied on application of "reading materials" of high section of primary mathematics textbooks based on literature law, questionnaire method and interview method regarding teachers. Respondents of questionnaire came from 74 primary teachers in high section mathematics from Binjiang District and Xihu District, among which 6 teachers were selected to join interview. The author arranged and analyzed data collected with SPSS software.Result indicates that the following problems exist in application of "reading materials" in primary mathematics textbook:student’s interests are seldom considered when using reading materials, low application frequency by teachers, overlook of out-of-class study, having different interests in "do you know", single application method, etc. Regarding this issue, I made the following strategic proposals based on analysis of reason:first, editors of the textbook shall complete the compilation work;second, teachers shall improve their application capacity of "reading materials"; finally, reasonably evaluate application of "reading materials". |
