Objective: Through the investigation of the quality of life(QOL) of Han and Uighur senior three students in Urumqi, understanding QOL status of senior three students from a different angles, and to explore the influence of life style on the QOL of Han and Uighur students, such as timetable, food habits and physical exercise, provide a reliable basis for improving the QOL of senior three students in Urumqi. Methods: 6 high-schools including 4 Han and 2 Uighur schools in Urumqi were selected with cluster sampling method and investigate the all Han and Uighur senior three students with the “children and adolescents’ QOL scale”, which was drawn up by Huazhong University of Science and Technology Department of child and adolescent health, and “a questionnaire of timetable,food habits and physical exercise of senior three students in Urumqi” by self made. Using SPSS17.0 software for statistical analysis of the data. Results: 1. The overall conditions of QOL : Most of the students’ QOL is in the moderate level, the proportion up to 88.8%. In addition, 4.7% of the students’ QOL below the moderate level and 6.5% of the students’ QOL above the moderate level. 2. The overall QOL of Han students is better than the Uighur students( P ? 0.05), There was no significant difference in the overall QOL between different genders( P ? 0.05). 3. The dimensions of peer relationships, exercise capacity and other of boys and the dimensions of peer relationships, life convenience, self satisfaction of girls are lower than the national norm( P ? 0.05). 4. Influencing factors of the overall QOL on the Han students: aspects of timetable, daily napping status, study duration and Sleep duration; aspects of food habits, breakfast frequencies, attitude towards breakfast, place to get lunch, fruits frequencies, whether to eat fresh green leafy vegetables every day, type of regular drink, often eat salty food, fried food, high fat food, and whether like to eat snacks, like to use snacks instead of staple food( P ? 0.05); aspects of physical exercise, the attitude to physical exercise, weekend sports activities,time of adhere toexercise, time for physical exercise in a physical education class, no obvious fatigue when participate( P ? 0.05). 5. Influencing factors of the overall QOL on the Uighur students:aspects of timetable, daily napping status, Sleep duration and their own time in holiday;aspects of food habits, breakfast frequencies, attitude towards breakfast, fruits frequencies,whether to eat fresh green leafy vegetables every day, type of regular drink, whether to eat fried food and like to use snacks instead of staple food( P ? 0.05); aspects of physical exercise, the attitude to physical exercise, time of participate in sports exercise, time of adhere to exercise, main purpose of physical exercise, time for physical exercise in a physical education class and have or no obvious fatigue when participate( P ? 0.05). 6.Ordinal logistic regression analysis showed that at noon nap for 10-20 minutes( OR =2.113, P = 0.019), have lunch at school( OR =2.394, P = 0.013), weekend sports activities( OR =1.782, P = 0.026) improve the QOL of Han students; daily consumption of fresh green leafy vegetables( OR =2.238, P = 0.047), actively participate in physical exercise( OR =2.954, P =0.042)improve the QOL of Uighur students. Conclusion: The overall conditions of QOL of senior three students in Urumqi is in the moderate level,among them, the overall QOL of Han students is better than the Uighur students, and there was no significant difference between different genders. Much more study time, lack of sleep and do not pay attention to nap have a negative effect on the students’ QOL;Unhealthy dietary behaviors including skip breakfast, often eat fried food, high fat food and like to use snacks instead of staple food will reduce the QOL; Actively participate in physical exercise and continued to carry on, has a longer time to exercise in physical education class and more exercise in weekend can improve the QOL. Because there are differences in the QOL between different ethnic groups, different strategies should be adopted for different ethnic groups, reasonable arrangement own timetable, establish healthy dietary behaviors, actively participate in physical exercise to improve the QOL of students.
