Project schedule management as a main part of project management is a key factor to guarantee the project can be completed successfully in accordance with a predetermined schedule. Schedule management is throughout the whole process of project management. Critical chain project management (CCPM) as a new method of schedule management can accommodate the need of big & complex projects. In addition, the resource conflicts can be solved, the safe time can be eliminated, the efficiency of project implementation can be improved, and the cost of project can be decreased. The CCPM has become one of the most widely used methods at present.Guangzhou Asian sport project was a major project which entrusted by Guangzhou government. This project is the basis of security and information management of Asian games. The construction contents and scale of this project was complex, and it influenced by time, resource and other indeterminate factors. So the traditional methods could not be used to this project to guarantee it completed successfully. Different with other projects, once the large-scale sport events project couldn’t be completed in time, the opening ceremony would be influenced directly and bring some very serious problems on political and social. The methods of project management ware analyzed, the cases of project schedule management ware combined, the critical chain theory and application status ware used to these projects for effective schedule management.First, the purposes and main content of the electronic ticket system integration project ware analyzed, WBS and processing time estimate ware proceeded. Second, the resource constraints ware recognized and managed, the critical chain was determined and resource constraints ware integrated based on the network diagram and critical path. Third, the buffers ware setup and its size ware calculated based on the safety time was eliminated, in addition, the management mechanism which was used to supervise the use of buffers and project schedule was built. Finally, an ultimate project schedule was formed.Based on the process and result of this project, the CCPM methods which can be used upon such this project was summarized, in order to provide a reference for other such projects schedule management.
