For the moment, all grades and different versions of mathematics textbooks are going into revising, to evaluate them and to find theirs’ strengths and weaknesses can provide basis and suggestions to mathematics textbooks’ revising and accelerate the reform of mathematics curriculum successfully. So the construction of comprehensive and objective evaluation index system of mathematics textbooks makes us evaluate mathematics textbooks subtly and visually.Which also makes it possible to create first-class primary mathematics textbooks.This research mainly divided into five parts. The first part is introduction, mainly elaborates the context, significance, methods, contents of the research and defines the relevant concepts. The second part is the research review, the author of the research sorts out some existing evaluation index systems of teaching materials firstly. finding that the foreign evaluation index systems of teaching materials are mainly characterized by three features:evaluation dimensions and criteria is overall, evaluation indicators are material and operable, evaluation methods is integrated. Because of the domestic research on the evaluation of teaching materials is at the initial phase, so the research on the construction of evaluation index systems combing with concrete courses is very little. The author finds that the domestic evaluation of teaching materials are mainly characterized by four features: introducing appraisal patterns of foreign mathematics teaching materials; applying the general theory of evaluation of teaching materials; qualitative research is more than quantitative research on teaching materials; using academic achievement of students to evaluate the quality of teaching materials indirectly.The third part is the construction of evaluation index system of primary mathematics textbooks, through comparative analysis of literature, group discussion, experts’consultation and the consideration of teachers’ opinions, the author of the research sets the framework for evaluation of primary mathematics textbooks, which is composed of five dimensions and seventeen evaluation indicators. Besides, we design two investigative tools, which are teachers’ usage of teaching materials questionnaire and comment form. The fourth part is the application of evaluation index system of primary mathematics textbooks, some mathematics teachers coming from Lingwu city, Yinchuan and Haidian Disrict of Beijing were randomly selected for research. mainly including descriptive statistics on different dimensions and indicators, and qualitative and quantitative analysis on the each section of Beijing Normal University Edition primary school mathematics textbooks which were selected. The fifth part is the conclusion and discussion. Firstly, on the basis of construction of evaluation index system of primary mathematics textbooks, we point out some aspects needed to be concerned about. Then, the author points out the limitations in this research from four aspects:the logic of dimensions of evaluation index system needs to be defined thoroughly; the comprehensiveness of the indicators of evaluation index system needs to be further verified, the objectivity of data analysis needs to be ensured and the sample size of the research needs to be increased. By the supplement and perfection of the follow-up study, we hope that we can eventually form objective and scientific evaluation index system of primary mathematics textbooks.
