The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of self-monitoring strategy on ameliorating Behavior Problem in Children with ADHD. The subject of this study was a fourth grade student with ADHD, who learned in a regular class of the ordinary elementary school. Interviewing, observation and a single-subject experimental design of multiple-baseline across behaviors were used. Data was collected in three phases, i.e., baseline phase, intervention phase and maintenance phase. The independent variable of this study was self-monitoring strategy. The dependent variable of this study was the times of behavior problems that include attention deficit behavior, interjecting and being out of seat. Visual analysis was used in the study in order to analyze the data collected in the experimental teaching. The social validity analysis was also supplemented by interviewing the case, the cese’s peer, observer and the teacher. Results of this study were summarized as following:1. Self-monitoring strategy had a significantly immediate effect on ameliorating attention deficit behavior, interjecting and being out of seat in children with ADHD.2. Self-monitoring strategy had a maintenance effect on ameliorating attention deficit behavior, interjecting and being out of seat in children with ADHD.3. Self-monitoring strategy could effectively ameliorate attention deficit behavior, interjecting and being out of seat in children with ADHD, which had a high social validity. Finally, according to the results of this study, some suggestions on dealing with behavior problems in children with ADHD and future studies were proposed.
