Research In The Status Quo Of Hong Kong Public Swimming Pool (Kowloon District) Of The Swimming Training Course For Primary School

This research subject mainly concerns the status quo of Hong Kong public swimming pool(Kowloon District) of the swimming training course for primary school students which based on the related theoretical information, filed investigation and expert interviews. Refer to the Recreational Sports Development in Hong Kong in 2001 and 2009 and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, a paper questionnaire is designed. In addition, experts and relevant personnel advice are taken into consideration, modification is made. Survey was done by 285 students and 290 parents who have joined the swimming training class in public swimming pool(Kowloon district) and 6 experts were interviewed. These data collected were used for setting the basic situation, problem analyzing and strategies were formed. Recommendations for enhance the services and enthusiasm for all users.Conclusions are as follows: 1 The swimming classes in Hong Kong public swimming pool is largely managed by commercial swimming affiliates. It changes according to the opening hour. Water quality and safety are the top priority, however, insurance is not covered. 2 The coaches’ gender and age structure are reasonable and they are mostly experienced. All the coaches hold qualified certificates with professional skills and they are stable at work. 3 Classes are mostly in small groups or private tutorial, small groups are popular among joiners and 90 minutes class is common. Charges are different according to the sizes of the class and teaching the correct techniques is the main content. 4 Parents and students are satisfied with the coaches’ qualifications, the water quality standard, training costs and transportation arrangements, these 4 factors could affect the choice of training course. 5 In view of the present status of development of the Hong Kong public swimming pool is put forward the following strategies: paying attention to the water quality, ensure the water quality sanitation standards; Attaches great importance on the safety and health knowledge, and the water of save oneself skills; Organize swimming competition activities, enhance the interest and the effect of children learn swimming; Strengthen the management and service, pay attention to parents and children’s feedback; Strengthen the propaganda, improve the enthusiasm of the students learning swimming in Hong Kong and participation; Improve the supporting facilities; As far as buying insurance for students.
