In 2010, Beijing international marathon was renamed as Beijing marathon event. By the attention of both domestic and abroad, there are over 30,000 people registering every year for 30 more years, especially recent years. It once became the benchmark of China marathon race or even Asia’s, and also has profound impact on the hosting of China’s large sports competitions.The thesis analyzed and researched the current situation of Beijing marathon through a variety of statistical method on the following aspects: 1. The held background and characteristics.2. The route and schedule. 3. The current situation of athletes.4. The current situation of volunteers.5. The current situation of event extension, mainly analyzed from security, health care and bonus.The conclusions of this thesis are:1. From 1981, Beijing marathon was held for 35 years. It greatly promote the development of Beijing athletics and national fitness and the operation of the event has been becoming mature, but there are still some problems. During the survey to some participants, a few athletes maintain their own perspectives to 2015 Beijing marathon like high cost of registration, lack of projects categories, small scale of prize setting, improper clothe size and unreasonable setting of public toilets and medical station.2. The previous successful hosting of Beijing marathon has great influence for the marathon event of Beijing even the whole country. on the one hand, it not only promotes the economic development of Beijing, and so did the tourism, sports product consumption, catering industry and other related industries. Beijing marathon, on the other hand, also plays an important role for Beijing’s cultural development and social development.
