Development and use of curriculum resources is a major highlight of the national basic education reform.《Compulsory Art Curriculum Standards(2011)》 encourage“ Teachers use of natural resources and social and cultural resources in the art of teaching.” And point that “We should pay particular attention to outstanding Chinese traditional art, ethnic and folk art, carry forward the fine national culture, reflects Chinese characteristics, etc.” when choose teaching content. In order to improve the content of the curriculum reform, promote the development of students comprehensive and sustainable, we should establish a new concept of art curriculum resources,extensive use of internal and external resources variously. And take related educational activities within the students’ accept ability scope.As a Shandong unique local culture resources, The Chen Yulu painted sculptures have high research value in subject content, manifestations and art features etc. In this paper, we study application and practice of Chen Yulu painted sculptures in primary school art class, with the hope of developing colorful folk course with Yantai local characteristics. The student will learn local folk culture and art in familiar geographical environment. Under this situation, it is good for stimulating students’ interest in learning art, enhanced the e home loving motional, and it is helping for expanding students’ learning space. To teacher, it is responding to the curriculum reform positively,which have a positive and practical significance.In this paper, we discoursed in four parts. The first part was introduction, including background, content and method of the research. The second part was outline of Chen Yulu painted sculpture, in this part we analyzed its art features, further analysis the meaning of art education about Chen Yulu painted sculpture. The third part, we studied the present application situation of Chen Yulu painted sculpture in the school teaching by questionnaire and actual research. We studied the knowledge of Chen Yulu painted sculptures, analyzed the expected value and acceptance of putting colorful folk art into the primary school teaching. The fourth part was practice exploration of assimilate Chen Yulu painted sculptures into primary school art class. We formulated specific teaching strategies combined the survey result, and then the teaching practice was carried out. Finally, we took analysis and reflection with the practice result.
