AP course works as the advanced placement course of the American University, which have promoted convergence of the United States high school and University since it’s enforced. AP curriculum policy is a guide to the course of the AP curriculum, which is made by American universities and mainly related to the distribution of the rights of the AP curriculum. Currently, China is pushing Chinese Advanced Placement Course Pilot Project, but the right of Advanced Placement courses is not clear. The questions that if colleges and universities recognize that course and how to use course grades and whether the practices vary from one college or university to another are still in suspense. But these doubts have a great impact on the flourish of Chinese Advanced Placement Courses.The introduction of American university’s AP curriculum policy through an overview of AP course in this article, then analyses the text of AP curriculum policy respectively of doctor’s degree, master’s degree, bachelor’s degree and community colleges on the basis of university type. And then conducts a depth analysis of the American University’s AP curriculum policy from content, value, and process. Specifically speaking, through the comparison of AP curriculum policy content of different types of colleges and universities, It was found that the AP curriculum policy in pursuit of democracy and advocated diversification and rational choice; through research the value orientation of AP curriculum policy, It was found that it aim at the development of students; through the analysis of AP curriculum policy’s process, It was found that the basic academic organization and university teachers have great right toward curriculum manage.The above leads to the conclusion that diversity and selectivity, democracy, Students-oriented and self-sovereignty run through the AP curriculum policy. These values can guide the reform of the operation of Chinese advanced placement course, college enrollment and higher education management, which help us get rid of the mysteries of the development of Chinese advanced placement course.
