Design And Development On EPUB3.0 Standards Based Electronic Textbooks

With the popularity of mobile terminals, e-book reading has been accepted, because of its convenience and easy updating is used in teaching, and the emergence of electronic materials. E-textbook as a novel learning tool, its design and development work is particularly important in the learning environment, but current e-textbook mostly on iPad platform for Android or windows system of electronic materials is relatively less, so for the average user reading is very limited. Until 2012 the EPUB3.0 standard to reverse this situation, because EPUB3.0 is an open, free e-book format standard, let electronic materials developers see hope. EPUB3.0 support JavaScript, can realize the interactive function, cross platform support reading, to support the HTML5 language and CSS3 style set, can enrich the content of the presentation. Therefore, this study launched the development and design of EPUB3.0 standard electronic materials, aiming at solving the problems existing in the current electronic teaching materials, and promoting the development of electronic teaching materials.This research aimed at the development status of the domestic and foreign electronic materials, and found that it is difficult to realize the use of multi terminal and multi system. Most of the domestic and foreign electronic materials are based on author iBooks software development, can only be used in Apple systems, electronic materials format standard is not the same. With the advent of a large number of electronic materials, electronic materials in the common terminal operation has become a concern of the people. Due to the popularity of mobile terminals, cross platform reading has become a standard whether successful use of e-books, so the electronic teaching materials to achieve cross platform reading imperative.The status quo of this paper in view of the domestic and foreign electronic teaching materials to develop a standard format is not unified, the use of literature analysis method and interview method and based on the design research methods, first has been clear about the basic definition of the EPUB3.0 electronic textbooks; then according to the interview on College Students’ science learning characteristics and learning content analysis, based on the design research methods to achieve the functional properties of electronic materials; finally, encapsulation and small-scale trial of electronic textbooks, summed up the use effect.This study working to solve the electronic materials to achieve cross platform for reading learning and has higher practicability, can promote the development of electronic teaching materials, improve the widespread use of electronic teaching materials, to reduce the learners’ economic burden, improve the current university) in the course of teaching efficiency and can bring theoretical guidance and practical basis for the electronic textbook design and development.
