It is stipulated explicitly in the Normal Senior English Curriculum 2003(on trial) that the mission of senior high school English curriculum is to further develop the comprehensive language application capacity as well as to promote and strengthen four abilities in English language application, including the obtainment of information, the process of information, the analysis of problems and the solution of problems. Besides, this new curriculum standard especially focuses on the improvement of students’ ability of expression with the habit of thinking in English. Teachers are required to further detail the teaching mission during daily teaching, which is embodied by the improvement of reading and writing ability formed in the long term with unbalanced development. This new curriculum standard can realize the integration teaching of reading and writing, which can efficiently promote students’ comprehensive language application level during the process of integration.In order to assure the feasibility of integration teaching of reading and writing in senior high school English teaching, this essay begins with the summary of series of research and theory domestic and abroad concerning with integration teaching of reading and writing. Then, the essay introduces the definition of reading, writing and integration teaching as well as the relationship between reading and writing. The author believes that the integration teaching in senior high English class is operational, which should be carried out efficiently and applied throughout the whole process of the reading and writing teaching. Meanwhile, the author holds the opinion that it is necessary to conduct further real exploration aiming at the current condition that reading and writing disjoint from each other in the senior high school English teaching. This study focuses on two issues: 1. Whether there is a difference of degree between experimental class and control class in the standard of English learning? 2. What beneficial suggestions will be provided for English teaching in the future from the integration of English Reading-and-Writing Teaching in this essay? Therefore, the author conducted an eighteen-week experimental study on Integration of English Reading-and-Writing Teaching in a Senior High School in F city.In the whole process of experimental study, the author attempts to make a comprehensive demonstration through the methods of questionnaire, classroom observation, interview and test. After the comparative analysis of scores before the teaching experiment and after, the author find that the Integration of English Reading-and-Writing Teaching in senior high school class is more acceptable to students with high efficiency. It is feasible to conduct the integration teaching pattern of reading and writing. Measures should be taken in order to explore better and fitter teaching patterns of English reading and writing with high applicability on the purpose of satisfying the practical need of the society and students. To realize that goal, measures are necessary to be taken. Students should be the center in teaching activities, the misunderstanding that reading is more important than writing should be replaced with a new approach that the feedback of reading and writing effect should be stressed by the synchronous training with the integration of reading and writing.
