Oral communication is not only an ability in Chinese language learning, but a skill for today’s society as the development of society and the frequency of social communications. It embodies the comprehensive applications of knowledge and abilities. Thinking methods could be developed, healthy personalities could be built, and literary qualities could be raised by training students’ oral communication abilities. According to the present education situation, rural middle school students’ oral communication abilities are not very good due to the influence of social and family environment on their daily lives. Therefore it is of great importance and emergency to improve their communication abilities.Longjing city is located in Yanbian, Jilin Province. It is one of the minority areas as well as border areas. Longjing City is praise as "city of education" and "city of culture" for retaining complete Korean cultural and educational traditions. In this paper, the present situation is understood, the achievements and problems are found in oral teaching of Longjing rural middle schools through analyzing data obtained from questionnaire and interview on teachers and students in four rural middle school, subsequently suggestions are put forward.The whole paper divides into five chapters. The first chapter introduces the questioning, purpose and meaning, research status, research methods and main concepts defining of the study. The second chapter describes requirements and suggestions for middle school students’ oral teaching, which provides theoretical bases for teachers to understand the characteristics of oral communication and oral teaching. The third chapter includes the investigation about present situation of rural middle school oral teaching from three aspects of schools, teachers, and students in Longjing City. The fourth chapter analyzes the present situation of the rural middle school oral teaching in Longjing, and indicates that there are problems such as topic carryout restricted by rural actual situation, oral teaching neglected by teachers, communication difficulties generated by psychological fear, as well as expressions and communications influenced by family environment, though achievements are made in forming good communication atmosphere in school, improving students’oral communication ability in class, and training oral communication ability by reading. The fifth chapter offers suggestions on the problems above.Firstly, for schools to development text resources, inspiring students’interest in oral communication through exploiting textbooks, choosing life materials and enriching extracurricular activities; Secondly, for teachers to teach with emotions, creating speech situation, guiding expression skills and making diversity evaluation for students. Thirdly, for students to form habits, reviewing the text, accumulating substances, making speeches, and practicing what they have learned. Lastly, for parents to deepen understanding and offer conditions, changing attitude to encourage students to read by their words and deeds. Studies of this paper will help rural middle school students to overcome communication barriers, stimulate their interest in communication, enrich topics of rural middle school oral teaching, and fulfill the oral teaching system in Longjing City.
