For a long time, the education and training of children is an important concern of the state and society. As social vulnerable groups, the disabled children need access to better education but also need normal living and learning. This thesis takes the ability improvement group of Suzhou F training school as an example and expands practical operation around improving manual skills for the disabled children. Observation, interview and questionnaires survey are the main approaches in this research to analyze the status quo of manual skills for the disabled children. On this basis, based on reinforcement theory and social learning theory, group work methods in social work were used as a means of intervention to gradually improve the ability of the disabled children with emphasis on their living and learning ability so that these children can better integrated into the real life. Concretely speaking, the children could learn some basic manual skills they need for living, then they can improve their ability and learn to interact with others and enhance self-confidence, later they could gain progress and development. Finally through evaluation and analysis, this thesis proposes some reasonable suggestions on improving the ability of the disabled children. It points out only the joint efforts of all aspects of society can improve the disadvantaged status of the disabled children, so that they can live and grow better. |
