With the country attaches great importance to the cause of disabled people and the introduction of relevant policies,the development of disabled people has received special attention.There are about 85 million disabled people in China,of which about 62 million are living in rural areas,and the proportion of intellectual disabilities in rural areas is relatively high.However,from the current research in related fields,the research sites are mainly concentrated in cities,including schools,urban communities and rehabilitation institutions.The research objects are mainly children with intellectual disabilities and adolescents with intellectual disabilities,and less attention is paid to adults with intellectual disabilities in rural communities.Social interaction is an important aspect for everyone to participate in society and develop themselves,and it is no exception for rural intellectual disabilities.Due to the lack of professional intervention in rural communities,the shortage of staff,caregivers are difficult to take into account,and people ’ s ideas are relatively conservative,it is difficult to pay attention to and meet the basic social interaction needs of people with intellectual disabilities.According to the author ’ s internship experience and participation observation in the warm home of X village in Beijing,it is found that most of the rural intellectual disabilities have communication difficulties.They will show shyness,anxiety and self-confidence in daily communication.They often lack correct interpersonal cognition,pay too much attention to other people ’ s evaluation,emotion is difficult to control,and expression ability is weak,which cause social communication problems and further affect physical and mental health and social participation.Therefore,it is necessary to help people with intellectual disabilities in rural communities to improve their social communication ability,learn social communication skills and cultivate social communication confidence.Group work has achieved good results in obtaining alternative experience,establishing social support networks and improving interpersonal skills.Based on this,this paper takes the intellectual disabled in X village of Beijing as the research object,and explores the application of group work in improving the social communication ability of rural intellectual disabled people,so as to promote the better development of this group.It is necessary to do preliminary research work when using group work method to intervene in the service of intellectual disabled people in rural communities.Through literature research,participant observation and interview method to collect the information of intellectual disabilities in the warm home of X village in Beijing,analyze the needs,determine the research topic,and intervene in the group work service according to the needs of intellectual disabilities.Group work activities are designed and carried out under the guidance of social learning theory and social support theory,based on the characteristics of persons with intellectual disabilities,trying to use the power of groups to help them reduce interpersonal anxiety,sense of support and value,and enhance their expectations for interpersonal communication.Through the evaluation of group work intervention services,the effectiveness of group work intervention in the social interaction ability of rural intellectual disabilities is tested,and effective suggestions are put forward on how to strengthen the professional construction of service for rural intellectual disabilities and other groups of disabled people.
